Grange Restoration Project
|
The Society is initiating a long-range restoration plan
for the
Grange Hall, and plans to preserve the Grange building for
future use consistent with the “Grange Philosophy” of educating the
community about rural and agricultural issues. The goal is to have the
building, ideal for use as seasonal meeting, program and exhibit space,
open for seasonal use in 2009, the 100th anniversary of the
Sandwich Fair.
|
|
The first phase of
restoration includes:
(1) moisture and environmental controls;
(2) structural repairs and
preservation of
building exterior;
(3) related Quimby Barn projects to
provide collection storage space;
(4) electrical assessment and initial
upgrades;
(5) repair of the plaster ceiling over the
stage and restoration of the
painted
curtain;
(6) ADA and safety related projects;
(7) cleaning of the interior spaces.
Names of sponsors of this restoration project will be placed on a plaque
in the Grange Hall. |
